Xerox That

At my grandson’s school the other day, the teacher said she was sorry but had “not Xeroxed enough copies for everyone.” A fifth-grader asked what that meant. I got to thinking about terms we use that have or will fall by the wayside as those of us who use them disappear. Or they will take on new meanings not related to their original definitions.

Some generics we speak of include: the fridge, Xerox, Kleenex

Things that the young don’t know include: cc and bcc
